What are your instructor qualifications?

As a licensed child care provider, all staffed are required at least 6 months experience working with children or must take pre-service training on child development and behavior. Staff are trained in lessons, safety, emergency preparedness, recognizing and reporting child abuse and neglect, and positive behavior management. They are also required to attend annual training on these topics per state licensing. We strive to keep staff to student ratios at 1:12, well below the state requirements.

Can my child sign up for enrichment and 1:1 in the same day?

Yes! Our enrichment is offered the first hour after dismissal, and our 1:1 lessons are offered after the first hour until the end of the day. So a student can take the enrichment class and then attend a 1:1 lesson. The 1:1 fee includes care until the end of the day. The enrichment cost is separate to cover the cost of staff and supplies.

My child is interested in two enrichments that are offered on the same day. Can we alternate weeks?

No, unfortunately we don't have this ability to manage your account accurately this way. Instead we suggest signing up for a change in class with the new semester so your child can enjoy both!

I need care today - can my child start today if I register today?

As we are a licensed program, we need at least 48 hours to process your registration (and up to a week if you have a second payor) to ensure we have your child's medical emergency and other vital information on hand and communicated to our on-site teams.

Can I register for just one semester?

We are a full year program, so you must register for both the Fall and the Spring. However, you can choose different options for each semester.

What is your Covid and/or illness policy?

We follow CDC guidelines on masking and preventative measures such as handwashing/disinfection when Covid risk is higher. We follow the school requirements for students, and, as we service children under the age of 5, we ask staff to mask while working with children indoors. This policy is subject to change to follow CDC recommendations specifically for Covid. If your child has a fever above 100 degrees, please keep them home. We do not admit children who have been exposed to lice or other communicable diseases until we receive an all-clear from your medical professional and/or a written note. Safety of the children and our staff is our #1 priority. Are there any other fees or discounts I should be aware of?

Yes. Ask your school for coupon codes, as they are made available seasonally.

There is typically a “finder’s fee” if staff are not notified of a student absence and must search the school for them or contact you. This can be avoided by communicating absences with your site coordinator. There is a processing fee for late or denied payments for families on our installment plan. There is a 10-minute grace period for late pick-up, and a per minute fee for every minute after that. Please check with your local operator and be sure to read your iKids Parent Handbook for details.

Can we do a trial?

iKids is a very flexible program and we don't generally offer trials as our programs are very popular and fill fast. We advise parents to register for only the days they actually need care for to have their child start slowly with us, as we offer part time and full time options. This can work well for our youngest iKids who are transitioning to Kindergarten from Pre-School, especially if you're not sure if they will be able to go a full day without a nap. Generally our youngest students enjoy making friends and do very well in our program when we can understand your concerns and needs in advance. Speak to your friendly local director if you have further questions! We all want your child to succeed in afterschool.

Can we observe a class?

As we are a licensed program, we are not permitted to have adults in the room who have not been background checked and screened. We do offer verbal reports when asked, and with your written permission can share a fun photo in our private parent portal system for you to enjoy and get a glimpse into our program time.

What is the refund policy if I have to withdraw?

There are strictly NO refunds after payment is processed, as we staff based on your commitments and often offer pay in full discounts, but you will be credited for any unused portion of your payment to use in the next year and will not be charged for payments past your withdrawal date. For this reason, many clients prefer our installment plan. A withdrawal fee may apply- please check with your local operator.
